Below are details of the Committees sat on by our Board of Governors. Also, read minute papers produced by these committees.

Group Audit and Risk Committee

The Audit Committee oversees LSBU's audit activities including auditing the financial statements, appointing the internal and external auditors and advising the Board of Governors on the effectiveness of the internal control system.

Honorary Awards Joint Committee

The Honorary Awards Committee considers nominations for the conferment of honorary degrees and fellowships.

Group Nomination Committee

The LSBU Board of Governors, SBA Board of Trustees and the SBC Board of Trustees have established a committee of the Boards known as the Group Nomination Committee. To enable the committee to discharge its duties, it will establish from time to time institutional panels to recruit governors or trustees within the group. Under delegated authority from the committee, the LSBU panel recommends potential LSBU independent governors to the LSBU Appointments Committee for approval.

Strategy and People Committee

The Strategy and People Committee reviews LSBU’s performance against the corporate strategy, including the implications of the strategy for human and physical resources. It also provides for the Board in depth review of staff and student diversity, engagement, and wellbeing, as well as activity to support student retention, progression and participation.

Finance and Investment Committee

The Finance and Investment Committee advises the Board on the solvency and the use and safeguarding of its resources and assets. It reviews LSBU’s in-year financial performance, the proposed annual budget, treasury management, and compliance with the University Gift Acceptance policy. It is authorised by the Board to approve investment decisions within authorisation levels as set out in the Financial Regulations.  The committee also reviews investment decisions above its level of authority and recommends approval to the Board.

Remuneration Committee

The Remuneration Committee determines the annual remuneration of senior post holders. Further details of LSBU's approach to senior remuneration are available on the Senior Pay Policies page.
