Daniel joined LSBU in 2019 and became the academic Digital Lead for the institute of Health and Social Care in 2020, achieving Associate Professor status in 2022. He joined the LSBU academic board in 2022, developed and chairs the LSBU Disability Network (DNet), has chaired and vice-chaired the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) committee for the LSBU school of Allied and Community Health (ACH).

Daniel previously served terms on the learning and teaching committee at the University of South Wales, also chairing the extenuating circumstances board during that tenure. Daniel was also a founding member of the “Fair Play 30” initiative at the University of South Wales, for which the initiative members won the 2019 Guardian Award for “Advancing Staff Equality”.

Daniel’s areas of specialism centre around supporting staff with digital skills acquisition, technology enhanced learning, improving inclusivity and universal design in higher education, decolonising of curriculum and practice protocols, and influencing impactful changes in practices to support neurodivergent and disabled learners and educators.

Daniel holds a Master of Chiropractic, and PGCert Research awarded with distinction by the University of South Wales. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Daniel is an active member of the National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP). Daniel has been vice chair of the NHS England Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) forum for London since 2022.

Daniel is an active researcher, currently leading and involved in enterprise and research projects funded by the London Higher Education Group (LHEG), including the building of a virtual campus for pre-registration healthcare students in London, to increase employability and preparation for practice.

Daniel is openly neurodivergent, providing support and mentoring for other members of staff who are neurodivergent or have challenging reasonable adjustments involving technology.
