At LSBU we're dedicated to helping you every step of the way towards becoming a student, and during your time at the University. We've broken down the application process into separate, simple stages, so you can quickly and easily see what needs to be done next.
Our online application form makes it easy for you to apply for your course of choice. It’s important that you get your application to study with us in good time, especially if you need to apply for a visa. See our How to apply section for more information.
Prospective students may utilise representatives to support their application. See the British Council’s ‘Student Guide to Choosing an Education Agent’ for advice and guidance about how to select a representative.
If you do not meet all the requirements, you will be made a conditional offer. These conditions might be academic (such as a qualification), or you may need to show that you meet the required standard of English. If you meet all the necessary criteria, you may be sent an unconditional offer.
You will need to accept the offer by following the instructions given in your offer letter or by following instructions via UCAS/UKPASS. You will usually be expected to make a deposit payment towards your tuition fees if you require a Tier 4 visa which is usually not refundable (Terms and Conditions will be stated in your unconditional offer letter).
Once we’ve received a deposit payment we will ask you to start the pre-CAS process (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) which involves sending us the supporting documents for your Tier 4 (General) visa application and usually a pre-CAS interview. See Visas and immigration for more information about the process. It is important for you to start preparing for this as early as possible.
You should allow plenty of time to apply for your visa. UK Visas and immigration can give you further advice on processes and timelines.
We look forward to welcoming you to LSBU! Your next stage is enrolment and induction. More information can be found on our welcome week pages.
