At London South Bank University (LSBU), the future is always on our minds. Our teaching is about creating the best prospects for our students and our research is about developing future knowledge to benefit all. And for many years, we have taken this thinking to its logical conclusion by committing to sustainability and the future of the planet we all share.
At LSBU sustainability is not just about reducing the size of our carbon footprint but about driving sector-wide environmental change.
We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and have numerous measures in place to improve biodiversity, reduce waste, encourage sustainable transport and engage staff, students and the local community in sustainability. LSBU has a dedicated team within Estates and Facilities who lead on the organisation's work towards a sustainable future. To contact the team and find out about initiatives email sustainability@lsbu.ac.uk.
LSBU has a Sustainable Development Group (SDG) made up of volunteers from across the university including support staff, academics and students. The group's purpose is to drive institutional change and support the university's sustainability agenda. SDG aims to increase the environmental awareness of our staff and students and to promote the University's contribution towards sustainable development through curriculum, research, energy and environmental management, governance and stakeholder engagement.
