The Division of Human Sciences brings together the dynamic areas of Bioscience, Forensic Science and Sports Science. Throughout your studies, you will be developing your techniques of scientific analysis along with increasing your awareness of relevant social and ethical implications, preparing you for the world of work.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in biological sciences, forensic science and sports science. PhD research degree programmes are available and are supported by a supervisor, an expert in the field.

We have a wide variety of laboratories, which offer you an extensive experience in scientific investigation and analysis. Whether you are studying Biosciences, Forensics or Sports, from day one you will be able to access the latest equipment and expertise.

Take a tour through our Human Performance area, with specialist biomechanics, physiology and gait analysis laboratories, grows in reputation year on year.

Modern laboratories

The University's purpose-built biochemistry laboratory is equipped with facilities for carrying out a wide range of chemical and biological tests. Our forensic laboratories feature the latest analytical equipment, including electron microscopy and inductively-coupled plasma spectrometry - ICPMS. Students can also carry out detailed DNA testing – the strong links we have with the London Fire Brigade provide analysis opportunities in many real-world situations.
