Students will examine Digital PR and media strategy through newsworthiness, storytelling, crisis communication, and reputation management, applying theory to contemporary case studies and industry trends. Plus one option from:

This module develops students’ strategic understanding of global and digital marketing within international, multichannel and socially responsible contexts. It examines how organisations and agencies design, manage, and optimise global marketing strategies while addressing ethical, cultural, regulatory, and sustainability challenges. Through applied learning students critically evaluate international market opportunities, digital  environments, and content strategies, using evidence-based analysis to support responsible decision-making and employability in global marketing roles.

This module explores the key issues and opportunities shaping contemporary digital marketing practice in a rapidly evolving global economy. Drawing on learners’ professional roles and workplace contexts, it examines a range of current and emerging themes affecting marketing across different industry sectors at national and international levels. The module focuses on marketing futures, including technological change, media convergence, and shifting industry dynamics, critically assessing the challenges and implications these developments present for marketing practitioners and organisations.

In this module, students integrate prior marketing learning and apply it to understand an unfamiliar commercial setting and assess the strategic position of a chosen brand. They examine competitive advantage and value creation within a hierarchy of strategic options, before considering how these are implemented through structured marketing planning. Working with their selected brand, students plan and conduct research, develop relevant insight and translate this into an actionable marketing strategy. The strategy will be designed to achieve clear, evidence-based objectives that position the brand for sustained competitive success.

This module supports students to complete an independent, small-scale research or applied project over two semesters. Students identify a researchable problem aligned to their course (and/or their work place or aspirations), engage critically with topic-specific sources, design a feasible and ethical study using typical methodologies of the chosen topic, and communicate findings in an academically credible and professionally useful output. The module consolidates degree learning by developing research design, data handling, analysis, project management, and communication skills, supporting progression to employment and/or postgraduate study.

* Modules are subject to review and change throughout the year.
