2026 Applications
- Who it’s for: If you are making your first application or still have choices remaining.

UCAS Extra 2026
- Who it’s for: If you have applied but haven't received any offers (or have declined them) after using all five choices.
- Key dates: Open from 26 February until 1 July 2026.
- Second chance: No offers? Add LSBU via UCAS Extra and restart your journey.
- Fast-Track entry: Get a decision in days, not weeks.
- Take control: Secure your place today instead of waiting for Clearing.
2027 Applications
- Who it’s for: If you are planning to attend university in 2027.
- Key date: UCAS applications officially open in September 2026.
- Guarantee your visit: Book an Open Day spot early to ensure you see our facilities in action.
- Register your interest: Sign up for 2027 updates to receive the latest course information, key deadline reminders, and exclusive event invites.
How to apply
Once you have explored your options and found the right course for you, it is time to prepare your application. Find out more about the steps involved in applying below.
Step 1: The Essentials
- Fill in your details: Enter your personal information and qualifications into your UCAS Hub.
- Choose your courses: Select the degrees you’re passionate about.
- Write your personal statement.
- Key Date: Aim to submit by 30 June 2026. After this, your application will automatically enter Clearing.
Step 2: Reference & Fee
- Pick a Referee: Choose a teacher, tutor, or employer who knows your work ethic and enthusiasm.
- Note: Friends and family cannot act as your reference.
- Finalise: Pay your UCAS application fee and send your completed form to us.
This is your opportunity to speak positively about yourself and your academic ability. Keep it under 4,000 characters.
- The Hook: Start with why your chosen subject interests you and what inspired your choice.
- The Evidence: Share your skills, achievements, and any paid or voluntary work experience.
- Transferable Skills: Explain how your hobbies and interests make you a great fit for the course.
- The Closing Statement: End strongly with your career plans or your reasons for wanting a degree.
- The Final Check: Print it off and proofread it. Ask a friend or family member to check for mistakes before you hit submit.
Full time courses: You can apply for a full-time course entry starting next year through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). You’ll need the LSBU institution code L75 and the unique UCAS code for each course.
Part-time courses: If you're applying for a part-time course, you can apply online directly to LSBU. Health students applying for part-time courses can find specific details on how to apply on your course page. Employer sponsored students on part-time courses can apply online directly to LSBU.
Apprenticeships: The process of applying for an apprenticeship depends on whether you have an employer to sponsor (and support) you. Our how to apply information explains this in more detail. Please check you meet the eligibility requirements and that you have an employer to support you .When you are ready to apply, you will need to use our online applications system.
International (non-EU) and EU students without settled status can apply direct to LSBU. Visit the International how to apply page for more information.
If you require a Tier 4 General Student visa to enter or remain in the UK you would not be eligible for part-time study.
Disability , Dyslexia and Health: If you have a disability, dyslexia, medical or mental health condition please tell us on your application form. Our Disability and Dyslexia Support (DDS) will send you a questionnaire to understand how your disability affects your ability to study and what reasonable adjustments, such as extra time or enlarged text, you need to support your studies.

If you have a disability there is additional government funding available through the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).
