Nursing

We're a name with value when it comes to healthcare, particularly within Nursing. LSBU trains a quarter of all new nurses in London, and LSBU Croydon is training the next generation of nurses to meet the area's physical and mental wellbeing needs, and address a severe shortage of healthcare practitioners in Croydon.

Nursing students have access to state-of-the-art simulation space, that can be adapted for a general ward space, emergency room and critical care areas with hi-fidelity manikins. Our nursing labs allow us to flex to different needs and professional requirements, and adapt to the ever-changing health environment.

Studying and working local is important. As a Nursing student, you’ll apply your learning in a variety of clinical and health care settings, including placements on general medical and surgical wards, critical care areas such as A&E departments or intensive care units in leading NHS Trusts in and around the Croydon area and Gatwick triangle.

Chiropractic

LSBU Croydon is also home to London’s first Chiropractic course. You’ll train in our dedicated and purpose-built facilities, and have the chance to observe clinical practice from the very first year of the course. Our public facing teaching Chiropractic clinic includes nine treatment areas and a large rehabilitation space, giving chiropractic students real world experience as they treat the Croydon community.

Facilities

The London South Bank University Croydon campus has purpose-built clinical skills labs designed to replicate real hospital wards, and equipped with some of the latest innovations in healthcare technology. We are able to deliver state of the art, fully immersive simulation with students using our range of life-like full body patient simulators in the simulated hospital wards. We have also invested in a simulated sensory room and simulated living environment where students can develop their knowledge and skills in non-clinical spaces.

London's first Chiropractic degree provides brand new clinic facilities for students to gain first-hand experience of working with patients. Students can also experience practicing clinical skills on our full body patient simulators as well as utilise our in built camera system for self-reflection and peer to peer observation when practicing skills.
