Candice Davis - After Birth London

Tell us about your business.

Launching in Spring 2024, After Birth London will be the premier online resource for post-natal mothers to navigate this new territory from only their perspective. No baby advice!

What is the problem or need you are looking to address and how does your business idea meet this need?

Today we are living life at an unprecedented speed, and, with more fractionated families leading to a lack of support for post-natal mums.

This is where After Birth London steps in, to offer time-poor, tired post-natal mums in need of quick solutions for everyday post-natal issues with fast delivery.

From products to protect your home, restore and rejuvenate your body and mind, or simply an article that helps you to better understand what you are going through, make you feel less alone; After Birth London is here to support you.

What inspired your idea and business?

Throughout my experience of 24 years (and counting!) as a mother to my 3 children, I can honestly say no two experiences have been the same. Plus, I have found speaking to other mothers at various points in their journeys that many common themes and fears appear over and over again.

I remember my own fear-fuelled nights furiously searching the internet for answers to my questions and not being able to find all the answers needed in one place.

One day I thought to myself “There HAS to be a better way!” and at that very moment After Birth London was conceived!

What has been the best part of your entrepreneurial journey?

Creating something from nothing!

From an idea in my head; I am now a Managing Director, with a website in creation and making many connections in the post-birth world!

What advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs just starting their journey?

More speed, less haste. Yes, you want to move forward; consistency is key. But rushing for the sake of it will never go well in the end for the business as you will make poor decisions and easily avoidable mistakes.

Plus, do not forget; the businesses money is not your money!

What support would be most beneficial for your business at this stage?  What are you looking for help on?

I think at this stage it is marketing support and connection creation.

One of the things I have come to learn is no matter how skilled you are, you cannot actually do EVERYTHING; especially at the desired level.

There are only so many hours in a day, I am a Mum to humans and cats(!), I singlehandedly run a home, I am also a person with my own needs, and I am not 20 anymore!

Where can we find more information about your business?

Yes! Come, join us!
