LSBU wins S-Lab Award

London South Bank University's (LSBU) Centre for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings recently won the best Laboratory Based Teaching and Learning Award at the S-Lab's 'Effective Laboratory: Safe, Successful and Sustainable' award ceremony, held at the University of Liverpool.
20 September 2013

S-Lab is an international initiative to create better linkages between - and highlight best practice amongst - all the key players involved in university laboratory design, operation and management.

"We are extremely pleased at our winning against tough competition. This award is an excellent recognition of our commitment to educating our students by combining the learning of theories and principles with hands-on practice through simulated or real-life based work environment", said Dr David Tann, Head of the Department of Urban Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Science and the Built Environment at LSBU.

The Faculty delivers design principles with practice to all undergraduate engineering students through a common module, 'Design and Practice', for all first year engineering students including building services, civil, chemical, electrical, mechanical and petroleum engineering students.
