Unleash Bold creates sweat-absorbing underwear for women using sustainable, natural materials.
Share the problem/need you are looking to address and how your business meets this need.
Women suffer through discomfort and embarrassment from sweaty underwear in lots of situations: when they are exercising, in a warm environment, experiencing hot flushes, or even on the Tube!
Unlike alternatives, Unleash Bold underwear are designed for sweat absorption and are made from natural fabrics.
What inspired your idea and business?
The idea was based on my own experience of dealing with sweat when working out and running. Or packing twice as many knickers as days we were going on holiday, just because I knew I would get sweaty!
While looking for a solution, I realised there was an opportunity for me to create this product to fill a gap in the market.
What has been the best part of your entrepreneurial journey?
Speaking with women and giving a voice to their frustrations and embarrassment. I am inspired to create products that will help them feel confident and empowered.
What advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs just starting their journey?
Entrepreneurship can be stressful and lonely at times. Reach out to other entrepreneurs or join one of the LSBU programmes like the South Bank Works Incubator, or other business groups.
Surrounding yourself with others on the entrepreneurial journey gives you inspiration and people you can lean on when things aren’t going smoothly. It’s also wonderful to be able to cheer them on and pass on things you are learning.
