University Research & Innovation Strategy 2030
For decades, LSBU has transformed lives, communities and businesses through applied research, enterprise, and innovation that tackles significant local, national, and global challenges.
Our recognised research knowledge and expertise have helped deliver low-carbon heat, power and transport systems, reduced refrigeration emissions, improved and shaped peoples’ health and wellbeing, improved healthcare workforce planning, tackled injustice, domestic and gang violence, reduced gender inequalities in sports participation, and improved the lives of people with special needs. We are involved in more regeneration projects than any university in London and have supported over 1,500 organisations to bring innovations to market in priority sectors, such as Net-Zero, creative industries, digital and health.
Setting out our ambitions for the next six years, our Research and Innovation Strategy 2030 builds upon and accelerates these outstanding achievements.

Considering how fundamental discoveries and solutions to societal and technological challenges are increasingly found at the interface between subject disciplines, key to this strategy is a fundamental re-imagining and re-invigoration of two key institutional structures that will both enhance our culture and increase the quality, scale, reputation and impact of our research and innovation: our research centres and groups.
