Further your career, change direction or return to work through part-time study
Whether you need a qualification to enhance your current job or are looking to change career, LSBU has a range of part-time postgraduate courses that enable you to balance study around your work and home commitments.
Flexible payment options
As most postgraduate students in the UK are self-funding, LSBU offers flexible payment options. Choose to either pay in full or by an initial down payment followed by two equal instalments. This is offered as an interest-free payment plan and if you alternatively choose to pay in full you may be entitled to an early settlement discount. We also have a range of tuition fee discounts with our postgraduate scholarships and other external funding available you may be eligible for.
The fees for the 2017/18 academic year have now been set and can be found in the course information given in our Course Finder.
We offer flexible payment options and discounts for students paying their tuition fees upfront. Find out more in our section on How to pay.
Loans for postgraduate study
If you are starting a postgraduate course, studying for a Masters-level qualification either full- or part-time from 1 August 2017, you may be entitled to apply for a £10,000 postgraduate study loan. You can check whether your particular course qualifies at our postgraduate fees and funding section. You can also check your personal eligibility at Gov.uk.
The Gov.uk website contains details of financial help for part-time students.
Tailormade advice for postgraduate study
Book your time with one of our specialist Postgraduate Advisors. Over a 1-2-1 advice session they'll advise you on postgraduate degrees at LSBU that match your interests and experience. And when you're ready to apply their Application sessions will walk you through the application process. See our What's on for the latest recruitment events for postgraduate students.
Our main campus is in the heart of London, minutes from the city's commercial, legal, entertainment and arts scenes. Sitting on a major public transportation hub, we're easy to reach and unlike many sprawling city centre universities, our major campus buildings, including library and learning resources centres are compactly located – see our map.
Employer sponsored study
If you're an employer interested in a programme of professional development for your staff, LSBU's employer sponsored study makes this easier, with attractive payment plans and the opportunity for tailored courses that directly meet your needs.
All our courses are accredited or developed alongside leading industry professional bodies, taught by staff connected to relevant professions and underpinned by practical research so what you learn in the classroom is relevant to the workplace, which is why 90% of our postgraduates go into work or further study within six months of completing their studies (latest DHLE survey). Here is a sample of our accrediting bodies:
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
- Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
- Bar Standards Board
- Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)
- Institution of Engineering Designers (iED)
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
We achieved the highest possible rating for the quality of our education from the independent Quality Assurance Agency.
Facilities and campus investment
Whatever the course, we have the facilities to fully support it. Whether our students are in our research and skills laboratories, workshops, media centre, theatre, library or Learning Resources Centre we offer the appropriate technologies and expert support to complete their experience. We're committed to first-class facilities and have already invested over £60m in student buildings and learning spaces over the last few years. Read more about our campus developments.
