Richard Taylor is the Director of Research & Innovation at London South Bank University. He joined LSBU in March 2025 and a year later was appointed to the Board as Staff Governor representing the University’s Professional Services.
Richard has over a decade of experience in research management and leadership. Prior to joining LSBU, he served as Head of Knowledge Exchange, Enterprise & Impact at SOAS University of London. He had previously specialized in business school management and research development at the University of Sussex, where he worked for eight years. Richard also worked in research finance at UCL following a stint in the private sector as an Associate at Deloitte LLP.
Richard has a First-Class BA from Durham University and a Master’s and Doctorate from the University of Oxford. His professional interests include innovation management and industrial strategy, governance and social responsibility, and the socioeconomic value of research in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
