LSBU graduate works as camera trainee on hit ITV show
A recent LSBU film student has been working in the camera department of the hit ITV drama ‘Mr Bates vs The Post Office’.
Berenika Golebiowska, a 2022 graduate of LSBU’s BA Film Practice course, was a camera trainee on the show.
“Working on this drama was a really great experience, everybody was lovely," she said. “However, it’s a very difficult and competitive area to break into. You have to talk to people and build your network. I feel that the course really helped prepare me for the world of work, especially the module about getting work experience and learning how to network with people in the industry.”
The four-part ITV drama, starring Toby Jones, tells the story of the Horizon scandal, and British sub-postmasters' long battle with The Post Office.
“The show made a huge impact critically and was very high profile, so it’s a great achievement for a recent graduate to have worked on it,” said Dr Matthew Hawkins, course leader in Film and Television Production.
Some scenes in the programme were also filmed at LSBU’s Borough Road campus.
