Rise to the challenge of every day knowing that we're with you all the way. We provide advice and support for students on a wide range of non-academic and educational needs.
We understand you have questions regarding our IT systems and how it's affecting you and your studies. Here's an outline of what happened, what we're doing right now and the support that's available to you.
Just before Christmas, we were targeted in a cyber-incident, meaning a lot of our IT services had to be reduced drastically at short notice to protect you and our systems. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we investigate with the relevant authorities and law enforcement. There is no evidence that the confidentiality of staff or student data has been affected, but we want to ensure maximum safety and peace of mind throughout this process, which is why we're bringing our services back online gradually.
When will everything be back to normal?
We're aiming for Moodle and Panopto to be back by the middle of January. Your course teams have been sending you your learning materials through Teams and other routes while this access is not available.
Staying safe online
From Monday 11 January you'll need to reset your password to get access to your LSBU IT accounts. We sent you an email on Thursday 7 January 2020 with details on how to reset your password. There will be disruptions to IT services over the weekend (Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January) as we put steps in place to keep you safe. Thanks again for your ongoing support. Please contact Student IT Support if you need any help with resetting your password.
What about my uni work?
We have extended the deadlines for assessments and assignments to be handed in. Your course teams will be been in touch with you directly about the timelines for your assessments and assignments, so please do check your LSBU emails.
