Opportunities

LSBU is based in the heart of London, and this provides opportunity to access commercial and industry networks in the highly competitive and innovative capital of the UK. We can offer placements, work experience, workshops, live briefs, mentoring and industry led guest lectures. We believe our geographic position is a key element in delivery dynamic and relevant business courses, embracing new ways of working in the digital landscape and post pandemic. We work closely with practitioners from all business sectors to ensure a multifaced and applied learning experience for students, with real life exposure into business.In-curriculum

Employability and applied learning begin in the first year, where students will undertake a Discovery project, developing entrepreneurial, commercial, presentation, group work and project management skills. In their second year, students will undertake an employability module, where CV presentation and job application skills will be developed, with experience of mock interviews and assessment centres, as well as honing degree specific transferable skills to guide all students on entry to the labour market. In their final year, students will be invited to join an LSBU talent pool for the latest (and sometimes exclusive) graduate opportunities open to them, with one-to-one support in job applications. Our curriculum is underpinned by regular reviews with industry partners through Curriculum Advisory Boards, meaning our courses are relevant to the everchanging world of graduate employment.
As well as dedicated employability modules, students will experience an applied learning environment, with regular guest speaker delivery and live briefs so that students are developing their networks, confidence and work-readiness.
LSBU Business School are leading providers to the NHS placement programme across London.

“From attending LSBU  in 2002-2006, I knew that this place was special. The individual attention and commitment from the tutors set me up to achieve. I am still extremely thankful for their support and as I am now able to give back, I looked exclusively towards the university for my graduate vacancy.”
