Sue Mullaney has been appointed as the new Pro-Dean for Pre-registration Education and Quality
The Faculty is delighted to announce that Sue Mullaney has taken up post as the new Pro-Dean for Pre-registration Education and Quality, as of 1 May 2013.The role will involve cross Faculty leadership and responsibility for pre-registration education to improve student achievement, as well as accountability and oversight of the university's quality assurance systems and processes as applied in the Faculty. Sue will be working with others to lead the development and implementation of an effective clinical skills strategy to ensure that pre-registration students maximise their practice learning. Sue has a particular interest in student assessment and feedback.
Sue is qualified as both a Children's Nurse and Adult Nurse, and has completed both a Masters in Nursing and a BA (Hons) in Nursing Education. In her career as a nurse sue specialised in children's intensive care, working in the UK and in Switzerland. Moving into higher education, Sue led on the development of Children's Nursing education, for both face to face and distance learning at the Royal College of Nursing.
Most recently, here at LSBU Sue led one of the biggest departments of children's nursing as Head of Department, working closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust and other central and outer London Trusts. Additionally, she was involved in the Mendas project developing a recruitment tool that ensures that the right candidates are selected to train to nurse children and young people and support their families.
I am really looking forward to working together with the staff across the Faculty and the university to further improve student experience, achievement and outcomes through enhanced quality processes.
