New Director of the Institute of Vocational LearningSheelagh Mealing has commenced in post as the new Director of the Institute of Vocational Learning
Sheelagh is due to start in post on Monday 3 September 2012. The Institute has been growing steadily, developing a reputation for responsiveness and the quality of its educational provision for the unqualified workforce, which Sheelagh has played a vital role in over recent years.
Sheelagh said: "I am delighted to be taking on this key role, as Director of the Institute in the Faculty at this point in time. Support workers across the NHS are beginning to receive more attention in terms of their education, training and progression needs and it is an exciting time to be involved in changes that can be seen to be leading to improved patient outcomes.
"I would like to thank the academic and administrative staff who have contributed to our successes to date and assure them that I will continue to strive to create a high profile for Institute's work both within the Faculty and with the growing numbers of Trusts who are looking to us to provide for the needs of their unqualified workforce."
