LSBU wins internationally recognised workplace safety award
LSBU recognised with bronze award from Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for supporting colleagues and striving to make LSBU a safe place for allThe RoSPA Awards are internationally recognised accolades awarded to businesses and organisations that have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
Head of Health, Safety and Resilience, Ed Spacey said: “This award is another indication of our commitment to ensuring LSBU is a safe and supportive workplace for everyone who works and studies here.
“Of course safety in the workplace or place of study is everyone’s responsibility and is an ongoing priority so we will continue to improve with a view to achieving a silver award in the future.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Awards and Events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations."
Last October, LSBU was also recognised as one of the leading organisations in the industry when it was shortlisted as a finalist in the Emergency Planning Society “Resilience Team of the Year” Awards.
The team will be presented with the award during a gala ceremony at the ExCeL, London, on June 21, 2016.
