LSBU students win Royal Television Society awards for best short film and best editing

London South Bank University (LSBU) Film Practice students have distinguished themselves at the Royal Television Society (RTS) London Student Television Awards 2021, winning two awards at the ‘Oscars’ of the film student world:

  • Short Film – for Introspection by Ben Watson, Jem Horstead, Aeneas Macdonald and Sam Cousins
  • Editing – for Introspection by Ben Watson

LSBU Film Practice students were shortlisted for three RTS London Student Television Awards which were held on 10 March 2021.

Lucy Brown, Head of Division for Film, Associate Professor, School of Arts and Creative Industries at LSBU, said: “At LSBU we actively encourage creative and ambitious film-making to ensure our students realise their true potential and make films they are proud of, showcasing their ability.

“The RTS London Student Television Awards are the equivalent of the Oscars for film students and this is our third, consecutive, award-winning year. Our students’ success is a credit to the excellent teaching they receive from a committed staff team and LSBU’s capacity to produce the next generation of ground-breaking filmmakers.”
