LSBU students come third in prestigious international marketing competition
Two London South Bank University (LSBU) students, Kalon Jamal and Anna Smolarczyk have come third in an international Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) competition to find the best young marketing talent.
The LSBU Business School students came third in the final of CIM’s ‘The Pitch’ competition on 18 March 2022. The LSBU students were given a real-life marketing challenge by CIM: to raise awareness of the partnership Boots has with The Prince’s Trust, within a £200,000 budget. ‘The Pitch’ finalists had to pitch their ideas in front of a group of business professionals on 18 March 2022.
Anna Smolarczyk and Kalon Jamal won a one-year complimentary CIM membership for coming third in the competition and have kick-started their marketing careers.
Sarah Moore-Williams, Dean of LSBU’s Business School, said, “We are extremely proud of Anna and Kalon’s achievement in coming third in this prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) competition. This global award rewards the talent, hard work and dedication that Kalon and Anna have shown at LSBU and displayed to reach the top three in this international competition. We work hard at LSBU to give our students the chance to learn the advanced skills that they need to build successful careers, and this award success is a great example of how we are doing that.”
