LSBU student wins 'Student Nurse of the Year: Children's Category' at Student Nursing Times Awards 2013
Amy Wilkinson, a third year Children's Nursing student won the 'Student Nurse of the Year' award in the Children's Nursing category at the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards 2013.Amy, a third year Children's Nursing student picked up her award at the ceremony held on 1 May 2013.
Amy Said: "I am so truly honoured at receiving this award. I really didn't think I would win. I would like to thank all of my lecturers and mentors from my time at LSBU and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I would also like to mention Kirsten Gunn, to thank her for all her time spent with me and everything she has done for me, and of course for nominating me. Thank you all."
The Faculty additionally had a further two students who were nominated for awards at this year's Student Nursing Times Awards, Jennifer Ash for 'Student Nurse of the Year: Learning Disabilities' and Emma Glover for 'Student Nurse of the Year: Midwifery'. As well as the recognition of our exceptional students, two of our courses were also nominated in the 'Nurse Education Provider of the Year (post-registration)' category.
