LSBU's Professor Tariq Sattar praised for excellence
Leader of London South Bank University's research into automated and robotic non-destructive testing receives special recognition from international publisherOne of the largest independent academic awards worldwide has highly commended a paper written by London South Bank University's Professor Tariq Sattar.
The 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence recognize high levels of excellence across the breadth of academic publisher Emerald's research content.
Professor Sattar leads LSBU's research in the use of automated and robotic systems for non-destructive testing. His paper 'Inexpensive spatial position system for the automation of inspection with mobile robots' was published in the international journal, Industrial Robot.
The paper discusses how small, automated wall-climbing robots can be used to test large and complex geometry structures such as aircraft wings and fuselage.
