LSBU Group CEO joins South Bank Employers’ Group board
London South Bank University Group CEO and Vice-Chancellor, Paul Kett, has joined the board of South Bank Employers’ Group.
Comprising members from cultural institutions, businesses, education providers, community organisations and public bodies, South Bank Employers’ Group champions growth and sustainability within this part of London – home to LSBU’s Southwark campus – delivering essential services, protecting and improving green spaces.
Paul Kett’s expertise in post-16 skills and Higher Education will help steer the organisation, in its 35th year, as it prepares its strategic plan.
Tom Sleigh, Chair of South Bank Employers’ Group, said: “I am delighted to announce Paul Kett’s appointment to our board. It comes at an opportune time, as we prepare our 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, which includes a priority to deliver inclusive learning and skills pathways, in line with the Greater London Authority’s Inclusive Talent Strategy. It also coincides with the publication of LSBU Group’s own new strategy – Connecting – which has a core focus on partnerships and pathways.
“LSBU has been a member of SBEG for more than 25 years and, with Paul’s appointment, I’m pleased to say that the two organisations’ relationship is stronger than ever.”
Paul Kett, LSBU Group CEO and Vice-Chancellor, said: “Our Group’s location on the South Bank, alongside leading cultural institutions and some of the country’s largest employers in the centre of London, is of benefit to all in our community. Our new strategy, Connecting, has partnership working at its heart, committing to be a go-to destination for employers’ skills and needs, so joining the South Bank Employer’s Group Board is particularly timely. I’m delighted to contribute to the South Bank’s continued position as one of London’s most thriving places.”
LSBU Group launches its new strategy, Connecting, at Walworth Town Hall on 19 February.
