London South Bank University lecturers win two international business awards
Two London South Bank University (LSBU) staff members, Usha Mistry and Theivendran Suresh won two major business Awards at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Excellence Awards 2022 on 9th December
Usha Mistry, a LSBU Accounting and Finance Senior Lecturer, won the CIMA Employability Excellence Global Silver Award 2022 for her work supporting students to learn new skills through the CIMA Business Game video competition and research on Business Games and student employability. It was also for Usha’s work organising employability events for students and supporting them to deliver presentations at a major business conference. The Award, ‘recognises academic partners who actively promote employer involvement and engagement between CIMA students and industry partners in the profession.’
Theivendran Suresh, a LSBU Finance, Economics, Analytics & Accounting Senior Lecturer won CIMA Teaching Excellence Award 2022, for his outstanding teaching at LSBU’s Business School. The Award, ‘recognises a CIMA subject lecturer who has demonstrated excellent engagement with CIMA students and effectively helped them to enhance their understanding of the subject taught.’
The annual CIMA Excellence Awards, ‘recognise educational institutions and individuals across the world going above and beyond to shape the next generation of Chartered Global Management Accountants and lead the accounting profession into the future. For the annual CIMA Excellence Awards 2022 over 350 nominations and applications were submitted for consideration in four categories.’
LSBU Business School students and staff have now won nine national Awards in the past year for their high standards & vital work teaching students the skills they need to build successful careers. LSBU’s Business School came 2nd for course satisfaction in Accounting & Finance in London (Guardian University Guide 2021).
