Inner West University Leadership Programme visits LSBU
A group from the Inner-west University Leadership Programme paid a visit to London South Bank University (LSBU) last week for a training programme, following visits to Imperial College London and Oxford UniversityThe two-day event, which was organised jointly by LSBU's International Office and the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM), saw 25 university presidents from across China attend academic lectures and discuss key academic issues, including UK university governance management structure, enterprising university, delivering a curriculum for international employability, institutional management for universities in the knowledge economy, and management of student experience.
The delegates also visited LSBU's Student Life Centre and the Centre for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings. Head of the delegation and President of Jiangxi Science & Technology Normal University, Prof Jiezhong Guo commented, "The Training Programme furthered our understanding of UK higher education management, especially in the area of enterprising university in the knowledge economy. It has provided insight and inspiration for future reforms and development at inner-west universities in China." On behalf of the delegation, Prof Guo also expressed their appreciation for CITCM's support to the Programme and their services.
The training programme, which ended on 4th June, was the second time that CITCM has participated in the Inner-west University Leadership Programme, and the Institute is committed to making more contribution to Sino-British education exchange programmes.
