HSC academics recognised for their contribution to their professions in the Queen's birthday honours
Professor Mary Lovegrove, former Head of Department for Allied Health Sciences received an OBE at the Queen's birthday honours.Mary was awarded her OBE for services to Allied Health Care as former Head of Department of Allied Health Sciences at LSBU. Mary worked as the Head of Allied Health Sciences from 1996-2011 and still continues to do invaluable work for the Faculty as the Lead on International Business, taking on this role after she retired as Head of Department in 2011.
I am very pleased to receive this honour, as it is the rightful recognition of the hard work undertaken by the Allied Health team in the Faculty.

Additionally, Professor Hilary McCallion, who is currently a visiting Professor in Mental Health Nursing at LSBU, was awarded a CBE for services in Nursing. Hillary is also the Director of Nursing at South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
