Students were asked to nominate themselves or ask an academic or peer to nominate them in any of the four branches of nursing. A number of other awards were also given for various roles associated with student nurse training. These included: Nurse Lecturer of the year, Nurse Education Provider of the Year - Pre-registration, Nurse Education Provider of the Year - Post-registration, Student Placement of the Year, Mentor of the Year and Teaching Innovation of the Year. The event was attended by a number of nurse leaders, academics and students from all over the United Kingdom.
Next year it is envisaged that nominations and the application process will commence in March. Staff are asked to consider nominating students, peers, mentors or teams for what will no doubt be another enjoyable and inspirational event.
