Professor Lord Broers, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Engineering Group (APPEG), recently visited London South Bank University (LSBU) to meet with the university's Vice-Chancellor, David Phoenix, and key staff and students.

Lord Broers, a former President of the Royal Academy of Engineering, visited facilities in LSBU's School of Engineering and School of The Built Environment and Architecture, to learn more about the work and projects currently being undertaken at LSBU. He observed how students are using the latest 3-D printing techniques to solve real-world engineering challenges and also visited LSBU's Digital Architecture Robotics lab to see the latest in construction technology.

Lord Broers also explored LSBU's Product Design Degree Show, which presents the final pieces of work submitted by this year's BSc (Hons) Product Design graduates. Lord Broers remarked on the impressive diversity of projects represented in this exhibition, praising the outstanding originality shown by students. He also congratulated LSBU on teaching students about the very latest in construction and engineering, which will give them new insight into what is happening in industry.
