Chris Harty appointed as LSBU’s new Dean of the School of Built Environment and Architecture

LSBU is delighted to announce that Professor Chris Harty has been appointed as the new Dean of the School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University (LSBU). Professor Harty will take up the role in September 2022.

Professor Harty was previously Head of the School of the Built Environment at the University of Reading, where he has been in post since 2017. He is a Professor of Technology and Organisation and is well-known in the built environment sector. His research focuses on the interactions between organisations, people and technology in the built environment and the potential impacts of new technologies on industry practice.

Our current Dean of the School of the Built Environment and Architecture, Professor George Ofori, will step down as Dean in September and continue to work at the University as the LSBU Group lead for sustainability.

Chris is well-known within the built environment sector around the country and will bring new leadership and expertise to LSBU. We are all looking forward to working with Chris when he takes up the role at LSBU in September 2022, to build on the many achievements of our School of the Built Environment and Architecture in recent years, which have led to our graduates moving into leading roles in the construction industry in the UK and around the world.”

Professor Chris Harty said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the new Dean of the School of the Built Environment and Architecture at LSBU and am looking forward to working with students and staff across LSBU and LSBU Group from September 2022. With my new colleagues I will ensure LSBU students learn the advanced skills they need to build successful careers.”
