Private Healthcare Stakeholder event

Date: Thursday 13 June 2013

Location: The Keyworth Centre, London South Bank University

Organiser: Faculty of Health and Social Care

This event is aimed at private sector training managers, Human Resources managers, Nursing/Clinical agencies and managers in control of training budgets. The event has been designed to showcase our Continuing Personal and Professional Development opportunities and to listen to your needs for training in your sector. We will be demonstrating why CPPD is good for business. In particular how CPPD: is essential for all healthcare professionals for their registration requirements is proven to assist in the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, and reduce attrition costs enables healthcare professionals to develop their role, developing new competencies and become more independent practitioners can contribute directly to service improvement at degree and Master's level, can assist staff to develop skills to run and manage services independently, ultimately leading to reduced demand for medical staff and lowering budget costs This early evening event will consist of a number of workshops where the University can demonstrate why it is the largest provider of CPPD in London and businesses can ask the Faculty teams questions. In addition the University will present its unique vision for developing bespoke provision for the private sector. The key aim of the event is also for the University to listen to business so that we can adapt or create training that meets private as opposed to public sector needs. The evening will also give participants an opportunity to visit state of the art skills labs and on site facilities in our new bespoke K2 building.

Postgraduate Research Summer School

Date: Thursday 27 June 2013

Location: London South Bank University

Organiser: London South Bank University Summer School

London South Bank University Summer School will bring together research students from across the University and New London Graduate School network for a week of activities. There are three full training days and a two-day conference. There are three full training days from Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th June. Conference Days are Thursday 27th to Friday 28th June (running from 9am til 5pm each day) and will include: plenary sessions, parallel workshop presentation sessions, a student forum and a poster competition. This year we have introduced the Michal Lyons Award for the Best Poster. The prize is a Mini iPad. This award is in memory of Professor Michal Lyons, who has been instrumental in the development of the annual summer school from a small event based around social sciences to one that now includes all faculties in the University as well as our partners in New London Graduate School (NLGS). Embracing Opportunities and Innovation in Practice
