Delivering safe, high quality care

Strong, effective leadership in health care is vital for the delivery of safe, high quality patient care. On this course, established and new leaders will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and practice, developing and communicating a vision to engage with multiple stakeholders.

The programme is intended for experienced, qualified health care professionals who may work in and across a range of health care settings and in a variety of clinical, managerial and leadership roles.

Leadership and Management

We aim to:

  • Develop leadership knowledge and skills which can be applied to the delivery of a quality, evidence-based service linked to service user, staff and organisational outcomes
  • Develop transformational leaders capable of improving and innovating health and social care delivery in a range of settings
  • Develop a critical awareness of self in the leadership of service delivery and innovation
  • Enhance critical awareness and reflection on the interfaces between policy, research, commissioning, service and practice
  • Enable you to contribute to the advancement of your practice and the service you deliver by your professional development and life-long approach to learning

The course is delivered one day per week: in Year 1 you will attend University on Mondays and in Year 2 you will attend on Wednesdays.
