An interactive event for women with learning disabilities, organisations who support them and NHS staff to join together to share good practice in breast screening

London South Bank University and The University of Kent invite you to attend a collaborative event bringing together women with learning disabilities with lived experience of breast screening, professionals and medical staff. We want to explore the common challenges faced surrounding breast screening and how we can work together to find solutions across different disciplines. At the event we will share innovative research in this area, explore breast screening from a range of stakeholder perspectives. We will have interactive workshops on topics such the ethico-legal issues related to breast screening and women with learning disabilities and interactive workshops demonstrating how drama can be used to make breast screening less intimidating and increase uptake. Speakers will include Claire Bates & Paraskevi Triantafyllopoulou (University of Kent); Karen Sanders (London South Bank University), Rachel Picton (London South Bank University) and others. The Event is being organised by Louise Terry (London South Bank University, Lead of the Education and Professional Development in Practice Research Group)  and Claire Bates.
