About the SchoolThe Dean, George Ofori, introduces the School.
We are one of the UK's largest schools in the field of the built environment and architecture. We offer industry-relevant undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Property and Real Estate Studies, Building Surveying, and Quantity Surveying. Our highly qualified and experienced academic staff members take very seriously the responsibility of educating the next generation of practitioners who will create and maintain the infrastructure which forms the basis of the economic and social development of all nations.
Our research-informed teaching has fostered a mind of creativity and innovation among our students. We are preferred by students from the UK and overseas seeking courses which would make them readily employable. We are also the school of choice, in London, of companies looking for universities to send their employees to, for both regular courses and apprenticeships. Our school has one of the largest apprenticeship programme in the built environment in the UK. We have very strong links with industry. All our courses are accredited by the relevant professional institutions.
Our three research centres and three research groups aim to undertake world-class, high-impact frontier work which improves the quality of life of the citizens in the UK and around the world.
We are the partners of choice for industry. We maintain a strong suite of enterprise projects with partners from across the industry. Our alumni have gone on to succeed in highly influential positions in consultancy and construction firms, and in government organisations. Our school has won awards for both teaching and learning, and research. We benefit greatly from the strong relationships we have with educational institutions in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
