Careers and employabilityOur Business School graduates have an excellent track record in securing jobs across all our divisions
Our ethos is about building the whole student whilst you study with us. From coaching sessions, one-to-one tutoring and endless placement, internship and work experience opportunities, our graduates have gone on to build impressive CV’s.
LSBU is based in the heart of London, our aim is to capitalise on this by giving you access to commercial and industry experience, wherever possible, in the form of placements, work experience, workshops and guest lectures. We believe our geographic position is a key element in delivery of up to the minute business courses, embracing new ways of working in the digital landscape. We work closely with practitioners from all business sectors to ensure our quality of provision is current and interesting for students, with real life exposure into business.
LSBU Business School often collaborate with guest speakers for lectures across all courses and year groups that are tailored to the module content. These include lectures to help you enhance your presentation and team working skills whilst also providing great networking opportunities with the guest speakers.
During Semester 1 in Year 2 of any course within the Business School, you will attend a 1-hour core module session every week that is built into the course. Alongside this, and throughout all years, you are exposed to practitioner panel sessions, skills sessions, live cases, industry guest speakers, alumni and other talks within their modules.
Each week, 4 career workshops are held on a range of topics: CVs, written applications, networking, interview preparation, psychometric tests, salary negotiation and more.
Similarly, 2 hours a week, career clinic drop-ins are also available.
Final year and MSc students can attend Job Hunting Club. These consist of 60-minute sessions which enable students to have the time to job hunt. It is an opportunity to work on career research, job applications, networking strategies and ask any questions they may have.
As an extra, MBA students have access to extra career coaching.

“From attending LSBU in 2002-2006, I knew that this place was special. The individual attention and commitment from the tutors set me up to achieve. I am still extremely thankful for their support and as I am now able to give back, I looked exclusively towards the university for my graduate vacancy.”
