The School of Health and Social is based on two campuses, Southwark in London and Havering in Essex. The Southwark Campus is based in landmark building K2, that features specially designed lecture halls and teaching rooms. We have a range of skills labs suitable for a wide variety of professional courses, including practice skills learning. The Havering Campus is based in a purpose built facility with skills labs approximately 10 minutes from Harold Wood station and caters for our pre-registration nursing students, as well as post-registration students undertaking professional development.
Our outstanding simulation facilities allow you to put your skills into practice in real world situations, so that when you are on placements at one of our 60+ NHS partner organisations, you will be ready to hit the ground running.
You should expect to be on campus to focus on small-group teaching, practical sessions and any activity requiring specialist facilities. Outside of this, we’ll be teaching you through interactive platforms, such as Moodle, MS Teams and Webex.
We are very proud of the work our students have done on their placements over the last 6 months. We aim to continue to deliver 50% of your training through onsite placements, working alongside our NHS partner trusts to ensure teaching will be delivered in a safe, socially distanced way and, if necessary, full PPE will be provided in accordance to the government guidelines.
We have designed our courses to be flexible and supportive. If the ongoing coronavirus situation means that you can’t make it to campus, we can move quickly between online and face-to-face delivery if required.
