Engineering

The School of Engineering is committed to providing the best possible and safest learning environment for our students during the COVID-19 period. Since March 2020, we have been reviewing UK Government and International guidelines on how to work safely with our students and colleagues. We took a decision in June to move all lectures to remote delivery. All subject areas in the School have been in communication with accrediting bodies to ensure that our planned teaching meets their requirements. They have confirmed that our courses remain at the highest of international standards.

In addition to the development of new materials for online teaching, we have timetabled selected teaching and learning experiences to take place on campus. The exact nature of that experience is subject area dependent and highlighted below. For students with a Tier 4 visa, these face-to-face classes have compulsory attendance as they form part of the Tier 4 visa requirement. However, we hope that all our students will find these experiences valuable adding to learning, making a new network of friends and meeting the staff on your course.

The degree courses provided by School of Engineering gain extra benefits from extra-curricular activities. We aim to ensure activities like field trips and visits to companies are held as soon as guidelines make it safe to do so. At the end of your studies within Engineering at LSBU we are very hopeful that you will have had all the experiences that any other student would have had in previous years.

Some on-campus facilities will be open and available for you to use. We are also continuing to support placements, where it is safe to do so.
