Business School

During the academic year, most undergraduate students should expect to be on campus for around 4 hours, one day per week. During these sessions, we will be focussing on small group seminar teaching.

Other learning and teaching activities (lectures, etc.) will be delivered using a variety of digital platforms such as: Moodle (our Virtual Learning Environment - VLE), where you will be able to find materials relating to your course, and MS Teams, a virtual meeting environment where you will be able to meet your Course Team and other students on your course.

For our postgraduate and apprenticeship students, teaching will be online, blended with dedicated specialist masterclasses which will be onsite, extra-curricular and open to students who wish to come onsite. These will be the equivalent of 2 hours onsite per week.

We have designed our courses to be flexible and supportive. If the ongoing coronavirus situation means that you can’t make it to campus, we can move quickly between online and face-to-face delivery if required.

We also understand that some students have carers responsibilities or may need to continue to distance to support shielding others, so we’re ensuring we have plans to support these students too, whether that’s through the option to join a live session remotely or to watch it later online.

Many of our students are still undertaking placements and internships during this time - some remotely, some on site. Businesses tell us they are still seeking students, so you’ll benefit from the applied focus of our courses, too.

Students who need access to Bloomberg Terminals will continue to have access though our offsite licencing agreement.

We continue to support our students with personal tutoring and careers/employability workshops using tools that we have been developing since the School relocated into our new, bespoke home in the LRC Building.

Wherever we have onsite activities arranged for our students (and staff) we have wellbeing and safety at the heart of what we do and have made provision for such activities following COVID-19 guidance from Health and Safety Executive and Public Health England. In addition, for any onsite activity we will be providing our own guidelines for students (and staff).
