You’ll learn how to use data for decision making, taxation and managerial accounting, as well as finance in a digital world. You will be able to tailor the course to suit your interests and future ambitions through a range of option modules in your final year.

By studying on a 2-year accelerated degree, you will be required to study throughout the year including through the summer. This allows you to complete the full course, with the same outcomes, in a shorter amount of time.. Students considering two-year degrees are expected to be highly self-motivated to complete the course within two years, and our academics and specialist personal tutors will be there to support you along the way.

Our BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance graduates work in an array of jobs and sectors. Many of our graduates decide to work in a practice whilst completing their professional qualifications. Accountants and finance professionals work in public sector organisations such the NHS and Universities, Banks such as Natwest and Lloyds, accounting firms such as PWC and E&Y, corporations as well as SMEs. You can choose a career in audit, tax, financial accounting, management accounting to name just a few options. Specialist industry software prepares our students with the digital skills that employers value. We have a state-of-the-art Bloomberg room on the ground floor or our Business School building. By joining our course you will have access to Bloomberg, Xero, Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS and other more generalist software.
In addition to lectures, seminars and tutorials, teaching methods include student presentations, group working, role playing exercises, hands-on computing and computer assisted learning packages. We’ll strengthen your interpersonal skills to help you establish a career in your chosen subject area by supporting you with a personal tutor and a student mentor.

As an undergraduate student in LSBU Business School, your personal development and wellbeing is very important to us, so we have developed a personal tutoring system that is tailored to your individual and group needs.
Firstly, you will be allocated a personal tutor who will be available to you on a 1:1 basis as well as facilitating group personal tutoring sessions which will be designed to enhance your academic and personal development within your degree programme.
In addition to an allocated personal tutor, there will also be a personal tutor available ‘on call’ in a designated room, called ‘Talk’, for confidential 1:1 pastoral care meetings every day of the academic semester from 9am to 8pm. This personal tutor can be seen by appointment or within a few minutes in order to assist you with any concerns that you may have.

Our city-based Croydon campus does not currently offer accommodation. Our Accommodation Service are on hand to provide information and advice about options in the local area. Please contact accommodation@lsbu.ac.uk if you have any questions.
LSBU Croydon is a short walk from both East Croydon and West Croydon station, with regular trains from Central London and the South of England. Our new campus is also accessible via local buses and the tram network.

Your application will be circulated to a number of potential supervisors who will look at your academic qualifications, experience and the research proposal to decide whether your research interest is something that could be supervised at LSBU.
There will also be an interview either by telephone or at the University. If you are successful you will be offered a place on a course and informed of the next enrolment date. The whole process normally takes between six to eight weeks, from receipt of your application to a decision being made about your application at the School.
