Teaching and learning - Law courses
Our teaching and learning strategy focuses on student engagement and support and teaching law in its professional context. Many of our lecturers are qualified legal professionals and know how the law works in practice and how to help you build a career in law and related professional fields. As part of the course they will encourage and support you to secure placements, volunteer and engage in other activities like mooting (mock trial competitions) that help enhance your professional career opportunities.
Over 90% overall student satisfaction for LLB Law (full-time).
Free iPad and core e-books
We know law textbooks can be costly so we provide you with all your core text books for free. You get e-copies as well as hard copies and a free iPad Mini to read them on.
Virtual Learning Environment
You can also use the iPad to gain access to the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to benefit from weekly online teaching support for all your classes. This includes quizzes with instant feedback, audio presentations which summarise the lectures and exercises to help you prepare for your face-to-face teaching in lectures and seminars.
Student Engagement & Support
We provide excellent student support through personal tutors, a careers tutor, student mentors and the University's Student Life Centre. We work closely with the Student Law Society to provide a range of activities and events including a careers fair, talks by lawyers and judges, competitions, volunteering and social events.
