Steve Hunter is an Associate Professor in the Division of Human Science, School of Applied Science. He is currently the Head of Division of Human Sciences. His specialist subject area is Exercise Physiology. He has over 30 years experience teaching and learning on Sport and Exercise Science degree programmes. His research interests are: Exercise, health & wellbeing; Strength and conditioning; Athlete testing evaluation and training.
Steve teaches a cross a range of degree programmes. He teaches modules that include Anatomy & physiology; Exercise physiology; Strength and conditioning and Environmental exercise physiology. He teaches from L4 to L7 and also supervises at PhD level.
Research interests include: Environmental Exercise Physiology; Strength and Conditioning.

Steve acts as a consultant for the Science Council and is a member of the British Association of Sports Science Heads of Department forum. He has been involved in a number of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships with external partners and worked with a range of European partners on EU wide pedagogical projects. He has recently been invited as a member of the international advisory panel at the University of Pernambuco in Brazil.
