Ravee Sundararajan has a broad ranging teaching and research background and has worked on a variety of projects both in industry and academia. He is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical and Advanced Vehicle Engineering programme. Ravee is currently a Deputy Head of Mechanical Engineering and Design division and also a course director for B.Eng/M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering. His previous post was as a Senior Teaching Fellow in WMG at University of Warwick where he taught and managed various courses across Mechanical and Automotive Engineering programme.
During his time in Warwick he was involved in the development of degree apprenticeship course for JLR and was a Course Manager in the Applied Engineering Programme (AEP) and also contributing into MSc modules delivery. Prior to joining Warwick Ravee worked as an Academic Team Leader in an FE/HE College in London, where he taught and managed various courses across Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Technology; this included working with post-16 students as well as apprentices from Industries. Prior to this post, Ravee worked as a Senior Lecturer in Malaysia where he was involved with a delivery of franchise programmes in partnership with both Northumbria and Robert Gordon Universities in their overseas centres. During his career in Malaysia, he had developed various course materials and lab procedures structured to suit the Industrial field.
Ravee's Industrial and academic experiences have provided him with a strong knowledge and understanding of Applied Engineering which he uses to deliver the course in his specialisation of thermo-fluids as well as in more specialised areas of Mechanical Engineering. His principle research interest lies in the field of heat and mass transfer and Computational Fluid Dynamics. He has been involved in a range of research activities from proposal/bid writing to supervising research projects and attending conference. He is actively looking for more applied research opportunities and industrial collaborations. He is also a Senior Fellow in Higher Education Academy and a registered Chartered Engineer through IMechE.
Mr Ravee has over 20 years of teaching experience in FE/HE sectors and is currently working at LSBU as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head for Mechanical Engineering.
