Obas John Ebohon is Professor of Sustainability and Environmental Law in the School of Built Environment and Architecture and Director of the Centre for Sustainability and Resilient Communities at LSBU. Prior to  joining LSBU, he was Reader and Director of the Developing World Built Environment Research Unit at De Montfort University. His research interests are in energy, sustainability and development in the built and natural, with emphasis on developing countries; economics of the built environment; urbanisation and its impact on the built and natural environment; climate change impacts on the built and natural environment, and sustainable community development. He is a consultant to UN-Habitat and member of the UN-Habitat Global Expert Group on the strategy and policies for implementing SDG11 - the New Urban Agenda. He has published widely and successfully supervised many higher research degrees on sustainability related topics. He currently sits on the International Advisory Board of UN-Habitat for the 2020 World City Report (WCR) - Sustainable Urbanisation: Inclusive Prosperity and Opportunity for All.

Obas currently teaches Construction Economics and Finance on the MSc Quantity Surveying Degree; Environmental Law on the MSc Environmental Management Degree, and Directs a number of PhD students research projects.

His research interests are in energy, sustainability and development in the built and natural, with emphasis on developing countries; economics of the built environment; urbanisation and its impact on the built and natural environment; climate change impacts on the built and natural environment, and sustainable community development.

Obas John Ebohon is a visiting Professor to Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Arts & Design, Notre Dame University – Zouk Mosbeh, Lebanon; executive editor and member of editorial boards of a number of journals; external reviewer to journals and publishers; serves on numerous international technical and organising committees of local and international conferences; PhD external examiner across local and international universities; member of the UN-Habitat Global Expert Panel on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda; and currently on UN-Habitat International Advisory Board for the 2020 Global Report on the State of World Cities (WCR 2020).
