Nick is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing, and course director for post-graduate orthopaedics. Prior to joining LSBU, Nick was a Senior Charge Nurse and Clinical Practice Educator at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre.

Nick has many years of experience in the Health and Social Care field and is specialised in Adult Trauma & Orthopaedics. He graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2001 and has since been employed by a number of teaching hospitals, working closely with ward managers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team in delivering, monitoring, and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice.

Nick is a registered Nurse Teacher, has a Masters degree in Clinical Education and is a Fellow Member of the Higher Education Academy.

Since joining LSBU in September 2016, Nick has worked in the Adult Nursing Department, producing and delivering modules and online learning programmes for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing students along with cross branch modules on Interprofessional Practice. Nick also delivers Continuous Professional Development programmes for Adult Nurses working in Trauma and Orthopaedics along with Management of Patients with Long Term Conditions. He has also acted as module lead for the 2018 PGDip Adult Nursing programme.

Nick is link lecturer for student nurses at Croydon University Hospitals NHS Trust, providing support and guidance for BSc Adult Nursing students. In 2019 Nick won the LSBU Outstanding Lecturer Award for excellence in education.

Nick has a keen interest in clinical decision making and education and has published two articles in the education supplement for the British Journal of Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing. Nick has also co-authored a book chapter on Person-centred Care and shared decision making for first year nursing students. Nick also has a keen interest in orthopaedics and interprofessional practice.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his daughter and can often be found in the kitchen cooking and baking or covered in paint, drawing and painting. Other interests include sport, theatre and the arts.
