Christiane Hitzemann lectures on the BA (Hons) Film Practice Course within the School of Arts and Creative Industries. On the backdrop of her international education in both theory and practice (she holds an MA in Literature Theory and Philosophy from the Free University Berlin as well as a MFA from Columbia University, NY), Christiane, together with her colleagues, seeks to establish and impart a holistic, collaborative approach to filmmaking.
Her research and practice interests lie in feminist film, as well as innovative, experimental story-telling. With her Berlin based production company chicksflicks she specialises in international co-productions. Christiane lives and works in London, Berlin and wherever her work takes her.
Christiane, together with her colleagues, seeks to establish and impart a holistic, collaborative approach to filmmaking of all genres.
Christiane's research interest lie in feminist film theory and practices through innovative, alternative story-telling, in new media and national cinemas.
