Ayfer joined LSBU in 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy within the School of Health and Social Care, contributing to the BSc and MSc Physiotherapy Programmes. Ayfer is the Module Lead for Fundamentals of Clinical Practice I & II and Rehabilitation in MSc Physiotherapy programme. Ayfer has previously taught on the Physiotherapy programmes at King’s College London, Kingston University and St George’s University of London, as well as in Medicine programme at St George’s Hospital Medical School. She has previously worked as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Neuromuscular Diseases at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Ayfer qualified from the Manchester University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and subsequently completed an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University and a PhD in Health Care Sciences & Neurology at Kingston University and St George’s, University of London in 2014.
Ayfer’s research interests are focused around management of long term conditions, physiotherapy education and mixed methodologies. She has experience of supervising dissertations and research projects at Masters level.

Ayfer is also Visiting Assistant Professor at the International Final University in North Cyprus.
