29 June 2023

Students of BA Acting and Performance will be travelling to the island of Hydra in September for an intensive artistic residency hosted by the Hydrama Arts Centre.  The students will be working with internationally acclaimed playwright David Greig, director Ramin Grey and Royal Opera House composer John Browne to recreate the third play in the lost Danaids series by Aeschylus, of which only fragments remain.  The 2nd play – Egyptians – opened its first professional performance in 2,500 years in Canterbury this year following an intensive research and development period.  LSBU Acting students starred as the chorus of Egyptian princes making their professional debut on the Gulbenkian stage.
