Access LSBU Scheme

Access LSBU is a free service for all students in Further Education colleges and 6th Forms in London who would benefit from using our facilities at London South Bank University (LSBU). Using the facilities of one of London's largest universities now will put you one step ahead if you go on to study at university level in the future. The scheme replaces our previous Associate Student Scheme.

Why join Access LSBU?

We offer:

  • access to LSBU's extensive library resources for reference and research purposes
  • access to our wide range of online resources on and off campus
  • reduced rates to use the LSBU Gym and Sports Facilities
  • use of University canteens and cafeterias

If you are studying towards a 14-19 diploma, BTEC, A-Levels or any other qualification, our library has a wide range of printed and online resources. As a member of Access LSBU you will be able to access our resources from home, school or college.

As a member you will also be able to use the LSBU Gym and Sports facilities at great value student rates offered by our Academy of Sport, Physical Activity and Wellbeing.

With our main campus at Southwark, close to tube, train and bus services it's easy to get to LSBU.

How to join

To become a member of Access LSBU you need to email lsbu.access@lsbu.ac.uk and arrange a time to drop by and complete an enrolment form. You will also need to bring in the documents listed below. Group enrolment sessions can also be arranged on the above email.

To enrol you will need:

  • identification in the form of a passport, driving licence or birth certificate
  • college ID card or letter from tutor confirming school/college and current course
  • proof of address in the form of an official letter (e.g. bank statement, utility bill, phone bill, medical card) or a letter from a tutor confirming your address
  • two passport photographs (your name written on the back)

When you come to enrol you will also have the chance to take a campus tour and speak to current university students.

What happens next?

After you enroll you will receive an Access card to allow you access to the university buildings, an individual student ID number and a LSBU log-in and password to enable you to access all our on-line resources. We'll also send you more information on all the LSBU services you can access. Membership of Access LSBU lasts one academic year, if you continue studying at a London college or 6th form after this date you will be able to re-enrol to continue your membership.
