Join us for a panel discussion featuring guest speakers with a wealth of experience in criminal law debating the question – ‘How can we reduce racial bias in the Criminal Justice System?’

The Association of Muslim Lawyers with The Society of Black Lawyers, in association with London South Bank University, presents the Lammy Review Seminar: How can we reduce racial bias in the Criminal Justice System?

The panellists include:

  • Ismet Rawat, President of the Association of Muslim Lawyers
  • D.Peter Herbert OBE, Chair of the Society of Black Lawyers
  • Deborah Coles, Director of INQUEST
  • Phil Bowen, Director of the Centre for Justice Innovation.

This an important timely event dealing the issue of racial bias on BAME groups in the criminal justice system.  It follows on from debates about stop and search, discrimination by the police, the Lawrence inquiry and ongoing impact of the McPherson report.
